Spec Piñata Challenge

January 13th, 2011

The Spec Piñata Challenge is a racing series hosted by MSR Houston.  Our goals are great racing with club racers and pros all in the field, good fun and laughs, and we feed you dinner. We wanted engaging racing for members and guests  with less hassle than with other races, and to build a sense of community among racers.

The inaugural round of the five-race Spec Piñata Challenge began December 18, 2010. All races will begin at 4 p.m. , and Dinner will be served at the Clubhouse after racing has finished for the day.

Each round will features two 8-lap heat races. The finishing order of the previous race will determine the starting grid for the next race, except the top five will be inverted.

Participants will earn points throughout the five races, determining a champion by your best four finishes. The winner will receive his or her name on a plaque in the MSR Houston Clubhouse. First through third will also receive stunningly rendered hand crafted trophies.

All races will be open to MSR Houston members and their guests as well as guests of MSR Houston. All cars must be in legal Spec Miata prep and must have a current SCCA or NASA logbook.

You can win a fine trophy for your effort, as well.
